POC Workshop on Trends in Optoelectronics and Communications
Description:
Progress in Optoelectronics and Communications (POC) covers cutting-edge research and innovations across the entire ecosystem of light-based telecommunications. This includes optoelectronic devices (lasers, modulators, detectors, PICs), transmission technologies (advanced modulation, DSP, fiber/wireless integration), and network architectures (core/metro/access networks, 5G/6G fronthaul, data center interconnects). The journal emphasizes high-speed systems (terabit-class), coherent optics, SDN/NFV control, and emerging paradigms like quantum communications, integrated sensing-communication (ISAC), and AI-optimized networks. It addresses challenges in capacity, latency, energy efficiency, and scalability—from component design to field deployment—enabling next generation secure, ultra-low latency global connectivity.
